its not that easy.back in the day there was a problem with a vac line that went thru the fire wall to your ac/heater box.not sure if your newer car still uses this method .wouldn't hurt to look under hood for broken vac line .pretty sure you don't have this set up.moe i'll look for picture of what your dealing with inder your dash. So they're motors now? Hmm! So that's why it doesn't change when going up a steep hill or stop the engine. My older ones always defaulted to defrost when loosing manifold vacuum.
been motors for a long time now. Some systems have been vac plus motors but most everything now is motors.
