Unhappy 2001 LHS *PCM Swapo Out*

I followed the directions per Chilton's remove & replace directions. I replaced the defective original PCM with a remanufactured one with the VIN, mileage, etc. programmed in.

I attempted to start it about 3-4 times. It would run for about 5 seconds, then die. Now, it won't start at all.

Advice, anyone?

Note: I have purchased OBD II software for my laptop.

Mr. Keller, what is a SKIM code? When I ordered the PCM, they asked me what the VIN was & what the mileage was. The Chilton manual also mentions this, but nothing re: SKIM code. I receive the OBD software tomorrow (I hope). I'm hoping to use it to clear any codes from the system.

I just realized that I used a new key cut by the dealer, not any of our originals. Is that bad?

correct the new key as to be programed SKIM Sentry Key Immobilize Module
The key is not programed to the modules the car well not start.
When they program the key the code should have already been put in the system new PCM has to be programed with this code.

Many thanks for the help.

1) The PCM folks are sending me a replacement PCM.
2) The key that I used to start the car after replacing the PCM was a black key (non-RFID key). I didn't even notice or I would have used our regular grey keys (RFID keys).
3) This action may have caused the complete shutdown of the system.
4) OBD is not linkable. It won't communicate with SCAN tool.
5) When I turn the key on (any key), the various dash lights and indicators (including CD player) all start to blink randomly. Weird!
6) I'm re-installing the original PCM Until I receive the replacement PCM. I'm hoping it will at least start so I can move the car.

By the way, the Chilton manual makes no mention of a SKIM module or anything to do with security.
