98 concorde - no heat - thermostate bad?
Hay all,
I have a 98 concorde LXI 3.2.
At times the heat works great, other times it does not work at all. I tried to fluch the system but no luck, something it blocking it. I suspect a failed or partially failed thermostate but I am not sure of it exact location or how to get to it. It appears to be on top at the ned of the top radiator hose () but that goes under what looks like a HUGE manifold. Is it really under there? If so how do I get it off? Are there gaskets I need to worry about or do I just pull it?
I can post pictures if it helps..
Thanks for the hulp!!

RE: 98 concorde - no heat - thermostate bad?
you have a big trouble...
your system is good but the unit of the heater must be replaced by a professional,,it is inside the dash board...
it will cost you a lot...
and the thermostat will not give this problem,,,if it is blocked it will result in engine heat up only and other trouble...
thans wish you best

Thats not true PLXMMK a stuck thermostat can be erattic and yes if the heater core is bad aka leaking or clogged then yes the dash will haft to come out. I am one of the professionals that takes the dashes out I had to do a heater core in my 98 LH laat year for it leaking. Hey Stunod does it work better when u are driving or have the engine revved up allowing coolant to flow into the core? if it does work better top off your coolant and see if it works better. After it works well do U smell a sweetness out of the vents?? if so then yes U have a heater core leak. If U lived in the atl area I would do it for much less then a dealer would with dealer quality =)
