Can I flush transmission in Chrysler LHS 1997?
I'm thinking about changing transmission fluid by flushing transmission.
But one car shop told me I shouldn't do it with Chrysler LHS 1997.
This is the only shop, which told me that.
So, I'm wondering if it's true?
I don't wanna do any harm to my transmission, so please advice what should I do?
Thanks!

Does the trans work OK now?
When was it last changed?
Why do you want to change the fluid now?
Sometimes, if it has not been changed and works ok may want to leave it alone.
For sure stay away from a flush or flushing machine. Old aged units may have some build up that a flushing machine stirrs up and cloggs stuff.
If you must change the fluid I recommend the following.
Add a can of Seafoam Trans Tune to the fluid.
After 100 miles drop the pan, change the fluid and filter.
Refill with ATF + 4 only Must be ATF + 4 ($)

I have a 1995 LHS with 72,000 miles. I took it Dodge last summer when it had about 65,000 on it and had it flushed. The best thing I have done to this car. It now shifts and feels like new. The Dodge service tech said it was a good idea to get the ATF-3 out of the tranny and put the new ATF-4 in. My experience is that it was a very good move and I expect my tranny to get several thousand more good miles. But like FIREM said, if there is a lot of miles on the tranny, it may not be the best choice. I have done it to 2 vehicles that have had less that 100,000 on them and no problems and definite improvements with them. Hope this helps.

Transmission works fine I guess, though I think shifting could be a little bit smoother.
I don't know when was the last time the fluid was changed. I haven't changed it since I got a car. I put about 7k miles on it since then.
It has 137k miles now. So, I don't know if the car is too old now to safely flush it.
Thanks for your answers!
