LHS Dash Speaker Size?!?!

LHS Dash Speaker Size?!?!
Just wanted to start of by saying im new to the forum and I'm happy to join the community as there has been multiple helpful posts I have used already. So I just inherited a 2000 LHS. The front 2 front speakers were blown and fitted a pair of JBL GTO 628's which fit fine in the doors and sound just great. Then the dash speaker blew (apparently a common problem). I have the Infinity sound system WITHOUT the rear door speakers. So I ripped the dash open and removed the dash speaker. Most places claim this speaker is a 3.5 inch. But I measured the cone to be 2.5 Inches! The hole in the car is 2.5 inches as well. Now I'm really confused. I ordered these And am praying they fit. Did I make a mistake? Are the speakers really 3.5 inches?

This is the speaker I pulled out with a quarter next to it for size comparison as well as a credit card next to it. The order hasn't shipped and I have till late tomorrow to cancel it so a quick reply would be great!

My sources tell me that no one makes a speaker that is a direct replacement for that.I just disconnected mine.No problems. If you think about it,why would you want a center speaker in an audio only application. You've got to wire it to either the left, the right or both. There goes your stereo soundstage.
