Need help with a 1999 300m
not sure what went wrong but was heading down freeway and engine cut out .. thought it was cam sensor or crank sensor but both seem fine , didn't have an analog voltmeter as book suggested but ran the tests and the cam sensor was getting the recommended voltage so replaced the cam sensor and checked the crank but nothing changed , leads me to think PCM but after reading some posts here im not sure .. had a backyard mechanic say it may be timing belt .. at 200 k miles and never changed it so that may be true .. is there a way to check it without removing the whole front end ?

yes we pulled the plugs and checked compression .. some cylinders had none and some were ok .. was 50/50 so 1 side wasnt turning so we kinda knew .. pulled the front off and it was a mess spent all day cleaning out the fibers and reseating everything .. got new belts and havent installed them yet .. thanks

ran into another concern .. after aligning all 3 points in the belts loop and instaling the new belt , when we rotate it by hand we get some resistance at TDC on the cylinders .. is this normal or could their be a problem ?
