need help with OBD input plug
Hello. I am new to the forum and joined in hopes that someone might be able to help me with a problem, and of course to help others with their issues.
I have a 1999 Chrysler Concorde LXI and it has been a great car. Years ago I purchased an onboard diagnostic reader to read the OBD computer on the car. The check engine light came on last week and when I went to plug in the reader, the OBD plug came apart. The dealership does not sell replacement plugs but will gladly sell you the entire wiring harness for $800. Uhhh ... no thanks.
I went to a salvage yard and purchased a plug taken out of another Chrysler Concorde. When I went to replace the plug by cutting the wires and resoidering, I discovered that the plug I bought has a few different colored wires. There is no way to tell how the old wires line up in the slots.
If anyone has an electronic schematic of the OBD plug showing where the wires go, I would love to see it.Email me at carolinaislander@yahoo.com if you can help. Thank you.
