Default Overheating 98 Concorde 3.5l with 35k

Hi! A friend of mine (an ASE certified master mechanic) and I could really use a little help with an overheating issue. His parents bought a 98 Chrysler Concorde 3.5 with very low miles. It overheated on them shortly after they bought it, so they took it to a shop who told them that the head gaskets were blown. His parents live a long way from us so they kept driving the car while we made plans to stop down there. They kept an eye on the fluids and temp, with no serious subsequent issues. When we got there, there were no signs of the head gaskets being bad. The water pump had been leaking a little, though. We replaced the water pump, the thermostat, the timing belt, the radiator hoses, and all of the gaskets. We drove the car a couple days and headed home. Everything seemed to be fine. The day after we left his parents called and said it was overheating again. The indicator was in the red and antifreeze was overflowing from the reservoir. The shop that did the original diagnosis rediagnosed it and insist it's still a head gasket problem and that we didn't do the job right. My friend the mechanic says he can't believe that we did anything wrong with the head job. (He’s done many of them before.) I would really appreciate any ideas you could give us. Thanks, Kevin

Thanks for following up.
The fans "were" working. It overheated while they were driving. I would need to ask them to verify if the fans are still working and to ask them to try to duplicate the problem while sitting still. We had the heads checked while they were off and the shop said they found no issues.
