Replaceing 98 Chrysler Concord lxi V6 Starter
Im getting ready to replace my cousins 98 concord LXI starter and was wondering how hard it is to get to. Ive replaced lots of starters but I am just curious if there are any problems getting to it, or is this a typical starter 45 min job.
Thanks

RE: Replaceing 98 Chrysler Concord lxi V6 Starter
The lxi has the 3.2L V6 wich has the same external dimensions as the 3.5L V6. The starter is on the driver side just behind the motor mount and close the exhaust. It's the hardest starter I have ever replaced in my life! It took a couple hours -
-Jack up and remove the driver side tire to gain access, (in the manual I purchased it recommended disconnecting the motor mount and jacking the motor up to free up some room, I did not do this and was still able to perform the job with patience)
-There are 3 bolts holdingthe starterin, a wire on top of the starter that needs to be unplugged and another wires/wires bolted to the starter (towards front of the car).
-Once unbolted it drops down, you will have to rotate it a little to get it out and then you can put the new one in!
Good Luck

RE: Replaceing 98 Chrysler Concord lxi V6 Starter
Anyone done a 2002 with 2.7 engine? I can hear the solenoid click when I turn the key but no start. Tried a different battery that I knew to be good and still get the same solenoid click. So, I assume everything from key to solenoid is OK. Have not crawled under to locate the starter so any helpful hints would be appreciated. Don't you just love the ones where you have to disconnect the exhaust pipe just to get to the starter?
