Speed Sensitive Locks- 2004 Chrysler Concorde
I just bought a 2004 Concorde LXi and it lists "speed-sensitive locking" as a standard feature. My doors do not automatically lock when I drive. Is it possible that the previous owner "disabled" this feature? I did not get an owners manual with this car, so I can't look it up. Does anyone know anything about this feature and how to get it to work? Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

my girlfriends concorde did something close to that. she said it had power locks before we met and were suppossed to lock automatically once you start off and that they just quit working....well one day i was sitting in the car with the stereo on waiting for her to come out from her dentist appt. maybe 30 minutes with the radio on...she comes out the car turns over slowly then cranks. like the battery had almost died. we get going about 10 mph and hear clompclompclompclomp...hey my power locks are working again. about 1 month later the car didnt start when she was leaving for work...the positive battery terminal had broken. new terminal installed..then later battery weak not fully charging replaced battery solved charging problem...battery had dead cell ......
so based on my experience with her concorde i would say to disconnect your battery terminals at the battery.......
also check for rusty metal band terminals that break easy and check for corrosion and clean or scrape as needed......put cleaned or replaced terminals back ont the battery and tighten....start car...turns over fast battery is ok...go test it at speed, cranks slow or weak charge battery or replace battery if it wont hold full charge, full charge will spin the starter really fast when starting... let me know if this helps..zz

Automatic Locks
Thanks ZZ,
I will try this- the car seems to start okay- without problems, but you never know. I am still wondering if there is a way to program them- bad thing is that the dealer "did not have an owners manual", so I can't look it up. Sometimes the keyless remote can be programmed to control functions such as this. My wife's '07 Pacifica allows you to controls these options from the program button on the dash- the Concorde does not have one.

I figured it out!!!!!!!!! Was looking in the owners manual from my '99 Concorde and ran across the "rolling lock" section. Seems that this can be deactivated- if the owner does not want the factory default of autolock. Here is how to ACTIVATE it:
Sit in the drivers seat with all the doors closed.
Place the key in the ignition.
Turn the key toward the start position a total of four (4) times- returning to the "off" position each time. Don't start the car- stop before it enters the 'start" function.
At the completion of the fourth cycle, the key will be in the off position.
Within 10 seconds, push the power lock button down (like you would lock the car).
You will hear a "beep" confirmaiong this operation.
The autolock feature will now work. Cool, Huh?
