Default transmission slipping?

I have a 2000 concorde 3.2L that when you push on the gas it seems like it is jerking or feels hard when it accelerates. Like when I slow down to take a corner and then push the gas again it kinda jerks when it starts to go. All the tranny places around here want 100 bucks to just look at it and give an estimate. Does anyone have an idea what might be happening or things I should check to find out what the problem is? Just trying to find out how much I'm looking at spending since the budget is pretty tight right now. Thanks for any advice.

Ponch37300~ Hello! It could also be a speed sensor that is bad. I had it go out in my 99 LHS and it also makes you think that the tranny is going. Hope this helps...good luck and keep us updated.

its not a speed sensor that would make u go and stay in limp in mode and also have a check engine light on.

There are no check engine lights and it's not in limp mode. If you let off the accelerater to slow down for a turn or something and then push on the gas pedal again it kinda feels like it's engaging hard. Almost like it's not hooking up and then all of a sudden a little jerk and it's going. That's the best I can describe it.

This has been happening for a little while now and just this weekend I noticed a squealing from the front right tire area while driving. Maybe a wheel bearing or something?
