Former Chrysler President Paul Bergmoser dies

Former Chrysler Corp. President J. Paul Bergmoser died March 20 in Atlanta. He was 89.
Bergmoser began his career at Ford Motor Co. in 1946 and rose to vice president of purchasing under Ford President Lee Iacocca. He retired in 1976 but followed Iacocca to Chrysler in 1979. Initially signed as a consultant, he was soon promoted to president and COO. He retired as a Chrysler officer in 1981 but remained on the board until 1986.
