Lightbulb '02 Sebring Conver: Rear Window Broken...

Hi Everyone,

My first post but with quite a problem. I broke the back Window of my sebring (Don t ask how it was stupid0. I went to a few Glass repair specialist and most of them do not fix convertible. The only two which gave me a quote were asking for around 600 Dollars.....
The top is in "cloth" and they explained me that it s difficult first to get the piece than to install it.
I am know looking for all the options that could help me saving some money: plastic cover, try to change it myself (I have a junk sebring with the same top system, only the cloth color is different)...

So I am ready to listen to all your comments, advices, experiences changing this part...

Thanks

Christophe

The rear window is a separate piece from the top, and can be replaced separately. It comes with the material at the bottom. If you google it, you can find a fair amount of information on the web about how to replace it, where to buy it, etc.

Here's a start:

You didn't check that website very carefully. They will sell the "window section only" including a glass window with defroster. It comes with material around the window and you have to choose the color to match your existing top.

These things require proper installation. Your best bet is to find a shop in your area that specializes in convertible tops (not a glass shop) and talk to them.

I hope your installation skills are better than your internet searching skills:

Chrysler Sebring Convertible top Installation DVD 96-06

It took about 30 seconds to find that.
