Default 08 2.4L running weird

Ok, I have a 08 2.4L Sebring automatic with 60,000 miles that started running a little funny about a month ago. When driving, normally you hit the gas a little bit and the car goes about 500 rpms up because it dropped out of overdrive... same thing when you're in cruise control going up a slight incline, car drops out of overdrive and ups about 500rpms...

well about a month ago I was driving on a trip and noticed that when the car was ready to drop and go up that 500rpms, it wouldn't do it.. and caused the car to "jump" a little while in cruise control. I started playing around and noticed that when I press the gas it pops up 500rpms then drops right back down. this has been happening ever since.

I recently had the fuel system flushed at the dealer because they thought it might be the throttle body seizing up. I also changed the spark plugs, which were in pretty bad shape. Transmission fluid is not burnt and still a good color. there are no noticeable hard shifts and it can easily shift in and out of all gears except for this problem I'm having.

please help!! I've run out of ideas and can't afford to keep taking it to the mechanic to have them keep "trying" things that aren't helping. Thanks!!!

Typically, Any overdrive or TCC issues would INSTANTLY set a trouble code...... Is the C/E light lit?????

Have the dealership check for TCM updates.....

08 Should be equipped with "ETC", so the "Sticking " throttlebody is very likely, along with a failing APP sensor.

Just a guess, but not a waste of money to do this. Try changing out the trans fluid and filter anyway, even though it looks good. If it has 60,000 miles on it it's not a waste of money to change it. I would also do this extra step. This stuff http://www.auto-rx.com
is a smart thing to use in the trans if you use it for a short while and then completely flush out the trans and put in fresh fluid again. Follow the directions that Auto-rx gives exactly. It may not fix that problem (although it might) but in any case it will likely lengthen the service life of that transmission, so it will not be a waste of money to do.
I agree about reflashing the TCM with the latest. You can't see what is going on inside these computers. I don't like them, but every car has them now.
