1997 Sebring JXI Convertible Issue
Hey guys,
I've been trying to figure this one out on my own for months now but I think its time to bring in the big guns (you guys). My '97 Sebring convertible (162000 km) has a hell of a time starting cold but seems to run fine once it gets going. Very rarely while driving it will 'hiccup' and nearly stall but recover and continue driving fine afterwards. Depending on the weather, there might be greyish smoke coming from the tail pipe or sometimes nothing at all. Before I bought it - it had been sitting for over a year and I have been told this may have ruined the valve seals. Also, there is a very gassy smell coming from somewhere.
So far I have installed:
A new distributor
A new water pump/timing belt
A crank sensor
MAP sensor
Coolant sensor
Spark plugs/Wires
New front bank injectors
Oxygen Sensors
MAF sensor
Fuel Filter
Fuel pressure regulator
I bought the new 'viton' valve seals but I just wanna check with you guys first since installing the valve seals will be a pain in the neck and there may be no point in doing so.
Thanks,
Jay
