Default 1998 Sebring Conv't ASD issue V6

Have an issue maybe some people here might be able to help me with, rather you're driving the car, or just sitting still, if you rev the engine to 3400 rpms, the ASD Fuse will blow, when it blows the engine immidiately dies, when u try to start it, it sounds like it has a weak batt, u can hear the starter click click click, replace the fuse, fires right back up....on a second note it has a new starter, new battery, new alt....if the car sits for longer than 24 hours...its dead as a door nail...anyone have any input?

Disconnect the battery, and check for current flow. It should be on the order of 0.05 amps or less. If it's more than that, you've got a short somewhere. Pull fuses one at a time to see where the short is. Once you've isolated the circuit, you'll need to check the components and/or wiring in that circuit to find and fix the short.

Since this happens at high RPM, I would suspect the fuel pump, but that's just a guess, and it could be lots of things. Have you checked for codes?
