Trying to help my son fix his car. Car will intermittantly stall with no check engine light. Long crank to get it to restart, but once it starts it runs fine.

I have previously had code for injector #5 wiring (don't remember the code), but that was accompanied by CEL and lite has been off and trouble free for about 4 months

Are there any known problems? I read somewhere about distributor?

Is it throwing codes now? CEL may or may not come on, depending on the code.

 

I had a similar problem with my 1999 LXi. It would just stall while driving and sometimes wouldn't start again for 15-20 minutes. It turned out that it had a bad crank sensor.
