2001 Chyrsler Sebring LXI
Hello, I just purchased a 2001 Chrysler LXI from a original owner that drove it on the highway tio work, 144,000 miles, then one day it just wouldn't start, I got it for $600 and im gonna have it running for around $1000, my question is, is the mitsubishi 3.0 a good motor? I have been told it's a through away car, but its nice , straight, and shiney, and it has new tires, just wondering if im wasting my money, any input would be greatly appriciated!
Thanks in advance

Im simply asking for insight to the car, I know nothing about them, but I thought someone might, I don't need advice on oney I just need to know if im funneling it into a bottomless pit. Thanks for your reply though.

You didn't say whether the car was a coupe or not. If it's a coupe, the 3.0 might be made to work. If it's a convertible or sedan, no way.
Before you drop a new engine in there, find out what's wrong with the old one. It would be stupid to replace an engine if one small part could fix it.

I have an '01 coupe with 324K miles on it (first owner). Did not have any major problems as of yet. Since then I've only replaced the radiator and did regular maintenance. Replaced the timing belt 3 times so far without any problems. In a few weeks I'm changing all the shock struts. There is one thing that bothers me though...I have a ticking noise when I first start the engine but goes away when the engine is warm enough...it could be the lifters but I'm not going to mess with it. This car served me well and it still does! I've been happy with this car.
