2004 chrysler sebring v6
my wife's 2004 sebring conv..just turned 69k.... We purchased this vehicle with 7k....The vericle has always been maintained.....(in fact by the same garage)....now the trans is banging when it down slows to 30 mpg....and the oil light has started to flicker once you drive 14 miles.....After what I 've read and....assuming the transmission and engine are shot.....Since the vehicle is in excellent condition....if I replace the engine and tranny...will this fix the problem...or are all the engines made old or new ,faulty....???Thanks

The oil light flickering may be a problem with the sending unit, or may be an actual low oil pressure problem. Either way, you should have it looked at immediately to avoid a bigger problem. As for the transmission, check the fluid, it's due for replacement. That could solve the problem. Most problems can be repaired short of total replacement of the engine and transmission.
I've got two of these cars, an '01 and an '02, both with over 100K on the original engines and transmissions, neither with a major repair. Take care of it and it'll take care of you.
