Default 2004 sebring bcm problems

2004 SEBRING 4CYL 2DOOR 85K miles

while driving my engine light came on and my car went into "limp mode" limiting my rpms to 2500. then all of my gauges stopped working .the engine light went away and no codes were to be found and my readiness monitors were reset but i never disconnected the battery or cleared codes.

later i caught it with the light on and pulled codes
u0155(no cluster bus message)
u110c(no fuel bus message)
u0140(lost communication with BCM)
u0101(lost communication with TCM resulting in limp mode)

all of my door locks, windows, lights, mirrors and HVAC system work fine

"Caught it" is the key. You're gonna have to catch it and diagnose it active to know 100%. I will tell you typically it is the TCM that takes down the BUS in these. PCM will usually not come back if it goes.

The security chip in the key? dosent that only check authenticity on start up? can you explain what is going on or what the computer is thinking? how would i go about diagnosing it? i have a snap on solus pro which give me access to the pcm trans bcm abs airbag etc if that helps.

When active, if it is a BUS issue then you won't get a response from some of the controllers. BUS issue can be on the wiring OR inside a particular module. If the BUS goes down the usual way to check is umplug one at a time until the BUS comes back online. If it is a intermittent issue then it's tough to find the culprit.

are the CAN lines that link the computers wired in series or parallel?

is the instrument cluster the gateway computer?

what would cause my radiness monitors to continually be reset?

when i got U110c "no fuel bus message" is that refering to no message from a fuel module or no message about the fuel level ? if so what computer is reseponsible for the fuel level BCM?
