Default 2004 Sebring Conv Shuts off immediately after start

My 2004 Sebring convertible starts with the key then shuts off after a couple of seconds. I can start the car with the remote starter (third party installed) and the car will run, but when I insert the key and turn to drive, the car shuts off. Could this be the result of a faulty Body Control Module? If so is there a reset? Thanks.

The behavior sounds like what is supposed to happen when somebody attempts to start the car without the security key being present. It will start but shuts off in two seconds. If your ignition key is grey, not black, then you have the security key system.
Remote start systems have a module to bypass the security key to start the car. This sounds like a problem with that system. I'd start by taking it back to the guy that sold you the remote start system.

Only other thing I might suggest is having a look at your key ring. If you have a whole bunch of keys and/or things like a speed pass all with the security key, you may be confusing the system to the point it can't detect the presence of the security key. Try with just the key alone.

Default Found the fix

With the sentry key in the iginition, turn to the on position and leave for an hour or two. The system will re-sync with the key. I suggest using a battery during the reset process.

do u have a third key? IF u start with the remote start they usually tuck a key away under the dash some where with the transponder being able to pick it up so if U run with the remote but not with your key then the key is defective and or the remote start system is causing issues.
