Wiring harness in between drivers door and car has broken wires...I had same issue! I spliced mine but you can buy a new harness if you wish

absolutely correct. my 04 sebring had all 4 window wires severed in the harness between the drivers door and the car. I spliced mine but you can easily replace the wiring harness by taking the door panel off. Took me about an hour and $1.69 in wiring splices.

Default Severed Wires in the Drivers Door Harness!

One more tidbit of info - the right rear window is permanently "dead". I guess 3 out of 4 ain't bad,

Has anyone on here considered that the MOTOR itself is bad?!

My front passenger window quit working. All of the fuses were ok. The switch on the passenger and driver door didn't work for that particular window. Got the motor replaced. Now works better than before.

You guys are over thinking it!

circuit breaker, or take the door panels off, and lube up the tracks.

All four windows on my '04 Sebring sedan stopped working one after the other in the space of 2-3 months beginning with the drivers, then passengers, and finally both the back windows stopped together. I suspect a short somewhere in the switch or wiring (yikes) as changing the fuse and breaker did not help. Before I go to an auto electric shop for mucho $$$$ has anyone had this issue?

dgaddie,

lots of ideas on here but it is well known that the wires in the wiring harness between the drivers door and the car break after time. It is easy to check this, pull back the rubber boot exposing the wires and look to see if any of the wires are broken or the casing is cracking.

I figured this out when the windows WOULD work when the door was open (the wires touched each other) but would NOT when the door was closed. I found this by total accident after I had taken the door panel off, replaced the main switch (still didn't work) and put a 12 volt power supply on the window motor (it worked).

It won't cost you anything to check this way.
