Default 2005 Sebring Motor?

Trying to ID a Sebring motor.
I don't have access to the VIN from the car it came from.
I'm told it's from a 2005 Sebring, and I'm looking for a "J" motor with PZEV.
Is there anyway to ID the motor, any number on that motor to tell me if this in the one?

TIA..

Look on the rear of the cylinder block. On a 2.7 L it'll be just under the left cylinder head. You are looking for the engine identification number which will be stamped there. The 3rd, 4th, and 5th digits should tell you the type of engine it is.

Thanks or the reply...
Is there anywhere on the web to decode that #? (other than calling Chrysler)

If there is, I don't know it. Can you compare the numbers on the old engine to the one you want to put in?
Failing that, try getting to know the guy behind the parts counter at your local dealership. Those guys should have access to all that stuff. Try bringing a box of donuts when you go.
