2008 Sebring radio suddenly has no audio

The dealer won't "repair" the radio. He'll replace it or he might send it out to a local shop for repair. The trick is to find out where the dealer goes to get these repairs done and go there yourself.
But first check all your fuses to make sure that it's not something as simple as that. There is more than one fuse that covers the stereo.
Consider replacing the unit with an aftermarket sereo. You can find one for a lot less than $600. It won't look exactly like the original but you may be happy with the result.
If you don't want to go the aftermarket route, you may find an exact replacement in a salvage yard or on eBay.

They will give you telephone support after the sale for free and include everything you need to install it included in the price of the radio. I have a Sony with a USB port, ipod jack and built-in amp for about 170 shipped.
If you only lost audio and everything else works also check your AMP. Fuses 8 and 19 under the hood in that black box. Radio Fuses are 7 and 20. 8 and 19 may be empty. This just means you don't have a premium system with an AMP

The dealer did a software upgrade & said if not fixed it would need a new hard drive. What he did worked for about 4 hours then it went back to audio coming on and off. Pops & then makes a shhhhh noise. sometimes no noise just nothing. at times when it is off overnight and I turn it on , it works for a little while.
