Chrysler Stratus Cabrio LX 2.5 V6 better performances
Hi, I just found this forum looking for possibilities to raise the engine performances on a 96 Stratus conv.
This car is old, that right but I love it.
The only disapointment is the power of the engine.
Is it possible to "tune up" this engine or if not to cange it with a bigger one, and what can fit in it?
My best,
Steph.

You might want to try this approach:
Chrysler Forum - Chrysler Enthusiast Forums - xfire04's Album: v10 PT - Picture
It's a Viper V-10 dropped into a PT Cruiser.
But seriously, there aren't many things on the market to soup up that 2.5 L engine, and even if there were, I'd be concerned about blowing it up if pushed too hard. It's not like those old cast iron engines that can take a lot of punishment and still come back for more.
Where are you located? I've never heard of a Chrysler Stratus Cabriolet. Is that a European model? How about posting up some pictures in an album?

The easiest way to add some more power is to drop in a 3.0 Mitsubishi, it's very similar to the 2.5. It is a very simple swap. The 3.5 Mitsubishi Diamante engine is a little more complicated due to its taller block and relocated oil filter. The 3.8 230hp v6 is a little tougher than the 3.5. All three engines will dramatically increase performance. They are all from the same family of engines so they are all very similar. It would be best to have traction control if you install a 3.5 or 3.8
