cleaned TB and IAC now car wont start
#11
Haven't really had time to work on the car before today.. Now I'm out there and i notice that I'm not getting any spark and i don't hear the fuel pump "whirring"... Checked all the fuses i could find (under the hood and in the car).. Car still cranks over like it wants to start but just won't.. Any fuses/relays i could have missed?

Would you happen to knew where that is on a 03 coupe 3.0 v6? the fuse layout diagram is practically useless , just pictures! .. Searched online and came up with the asd fuse but i have no clue where to look.. I know on other models it is on the fire wall behind the brake fluid , but not on my lovely machine.. I really think/hope that is where my problem is

Ok so decided to put a new distributor in and have a couple questions (sorry).. The Haynes manual i have is pretty vague on finding tdc..i don't see any bolt to try and rotate the engine from.. I don't want do it from the wrong spot.. for some other cars I've read i can get at it from one of my wheel Wells, is that possible on the Sebring. Again sorry for the noob-ness , just trying not to screw up..thx in advance

Yes, you go through the wheel well. Make sure the car is properly supported on jackstands, not merely on a jack. You will be removing the whell and the splash shield. The splash shield is usually held in place by push fasteners. Lift the center portion of the fastener, then you can pull the whole thing out. A set of plastic trim tools will make that easier.
The thing about the Haynes manual is that they only say something one time. You must look in the correct part of the book to find out things that you need to know to do operations that are sketched out in other parts of the book. Take the book to bed with you and read it through.

Thx for the help everyone , was pretty sure i had located it but you confirmed it for me. Good/bad news is the distributor was the problem , crappy coincidence i guess since it happened right after i cleaned the TB and IAC . Car starts right up now but idles high , Gives me code p0507 (idle control system rpm higher than expected) . my idle is steady right around 1.5k . Ive checked for vac leaks but no luck , my next guess is that i killed the IAC when i cleaned it but if any of you awesome folks think im missing anything (besides a mechanic lol) please let me know...

I also have another problem . This was my first time changing a distributor out and i was(at the time) confident everything was lined up properly . After im done i take it for a spin and noticed that when i applied the brake to stop the engine would stumble/maybe want to keep going a little ..lastly when i went to shut the car off the engine ran for maybe a second longer than it should ( run-on/dieseling from what ive read) . Would i be correct to assume ive screwed up the timing when i installed the distributor and thats whats doing this?

Sounds more like a vacuum leak or IAC problem. Usually if the distributor is not aligned properly, the engine won't run at all and/or the distrubutor will get destroyed in the process of trying to start it.
