Default Door Lock Problems

I have a 2004 Sebring and the door lock fuse (fuse number 9, inside fuse) blows every time I use the remote lock button. This problem was very sudden onset.

All of the relays appear to be in working condition as well. I don't think this has anything to do with it, but the driver door lock lever feels like it's seized up. So if you try to pull up on it to try and unlock the door it returns to the locked position.

You're going to have to get in the door and see what's going on in there. After 14 years, it's not unexpected that something might go wrong with electrical components, especially in the driver's door which gets slammed closed several times a day and has an opening at the bottom of the window where water can get inside the door. There could be a problem with the door lock solenoid in the door or it could be a problem in the wiring leading to the door, which gets flexed every time the door opens.

If the lock mechanism doesn't move freely the solenoid will overheat and blow the fuse. As mentioned take the door apart and see why it's not moving as it should. It may just need some grease.
