Default engine steaming and bad smell

About a week ago I got my sebring 2001 2.7l engine out of a reputalbe shop in the area. I had the water pump time chain tenstioners guises gears valve covers uper engin mount oil replace due to car not working. I notive when the car got out a couple days later the oil light started going on randomly, a few days later so did the engine light..it was not consistant lights just once every couple day. i noticed that then it starting making a sound like the gears or belts were over working. everyonce in a while while i am in neutral the idle jumps up and down about a 10 to 15 rmp range. lastly the car yesterday started a wierd smell that ncan through the vents ...boyfriend said it might be a dead animal but it smells to chemical to me to be one and under the hood starts randomly smoking whith the horrible smell...it is coming from left front of engine right between engine and oil can area. does anyone have an idea of what it could be.
