expected milage
I am looking at a 1996 sebring convertible with 125,000 miles. What is the expected milage of a 2.5? Any estimate of a reasonable price for this vehicle, in good condition? Are there any years better than others, any years to avoid? Is the 2.7 a better motor?

RE: expected milage
I cannot help you with the car price because i'm not from arround there and i don't know prices there. In my country Chrysler is a very expensive car. But the 2.5 liter engine, if used properly and oil changed in time and maintanced good should not give you any problem till 500.000 km. And for an 11 year old car 125.000 miles is good.

RE: expected milage
You can read my other posting about the mileage my 1996 conv gets. The 96 was the beginning and on rough roads the windshield will shake because it wasn’t built as sound as the later models. Unless you want a dragster there isn’t much need for the 2.7 as far as I see it. The 2.5 is very fast when you need it to be and the mileage is better. The 96 feels lighter and is quicker around town and handles better around the mountain curves. I do not agree that changing the oil will get you 500,000k, an authorized dealer has performed all the scheduled maintenance and recalls plus the oil is changed every 3,000miles or 3 months (or more often), the antifreeze every year and the transmission fluid has been changed twice but it is now starting to use oil. I have way to much experience with this model to post all of it here so I will just stop by saying I also have a beautiful 2002 Sebring convertible ex show car 2.7 V6 with 61,000miles but hands down I like the 96 JXI with the 2.5 V6 better. My only complaint is the A/C is way, way to weak for a black top in this southern heat. Good luck to ya.
