Default High Frenquency Sound coming from inside

Hey guys I have a problem with my 96 2.5l sebring. When I turn the engine on i get a high pitch frequency sound coming from around the back seats. Almost sounds electronic but it happens even with the stereo off. It only happens when the engine is on and not when the ignition is in any other position. Its really bugging the hell out of me and if someone can shoot me some info it'd be very much appreciated. Thanks

Is this a convertible? Could it be the power top motor?

Only other thing back there is the fuel pump but it doesn't usually make a noise like you describe.

sorry i should of specified, its a coupe. I thought it was the fuel pump too but the one in my f150 pick up is a lot lower pitched and less piercing so it kinda threw me off.

Pull out the rear seat and you will find an access cover on the passenger side for access to the fuel pump. With the seat out of there you should be able to hear the fuel pump clearly if that's the problem.

Great synopsis, without your work I would of never figured that out. Keep up the fantastic detective work Sherlock. Btw I hope you don't have to much trouble hitting 65 in your Dakota, for gods sakes don't try 80 you might blow a head gasket.
