Idle Issues with '02 sebring 2.7L
My 02 chrysler sebring recently started leaking coolant from the water outlet, the seam was leaking which i hear is a common problem. I got a new water outlet from the dealership, removed the upper intake, replaced the water outlet housing and gaskets, replaced the upper intake gaskets and re-connected all vacuum lines and sensors. When i started the car it stumbled a bit, but after a few seconds ran normally. Now i have an intermittetent idle issue, very similar to the one described here http://www.faqs.org/qa/qa-21559.html.
When first started, the engine would rev up to about 2700 rpm, then settle at around 2200. This problem went away for about a month after a few days, but now it is back again and it has the exact same symptoms as before. The car always runs faster then it should even when fully warmed up.
Has anyone had any similar problems, or better yet a solution? I have checked for vacuum leaks, removed the intake a couple of times to inspect for cracks or damage, replaced the gaskets twice, double checked all sensors, lines etc. This problems is very frustrating and the only code i get is a P1294 (target idle not reached)
thanks in advance,
brandon
