Intrepid rims fit Sebring?
Hi, I just purchased a 2005 Sebring Sdn with aluminum/alloy wheels (16x6.5) with 205/60/16 tires.
I have a spare set of original aluminum/alloy rims from a 2003 Intrepid which are 16x7. I was going to use the intrepid rims to mount my winter tires for use on the Sebring. Does anyone know if these rims will fit the Sebring and also, would it be ok to use size 205/60/16 tires on the wider rims.
Thanks in advance for your input. shamrock.

I can't say if those wider rims will fit but I do know that the clearances in the wheel well are pretty tight.
If you can't mount the tires yourself then you'll have to pay someone to do it which makes "trial and error" pretty expensive.
You might try asking (in a roundabout sort of way) on one of those web sites that sell rims. It's possible that they might have had experience with a swap like that.
For your reference, the wheel wells on your 2005 sedan should be pretty much identical to the configuration of any 2001-2006 Sebring sedan or convertible or Dodge Stratus sedan of the same vintage. Coupes are different, so if somebody says they were able to do it on a coupe, that doesn't necessarily mean it will work on your car.

Hi dcotter0579, Thanks for your rely. However, I have answered my own question. I just went out and removed one of my rims and tried on the Intrepid rim .... it did not fit. Although the Intrepid rims are a five bolt pattern they are quite a bit wider than the original wheels on my Sebring. Unfortunately, I have purchased the Intrepid rims and can't return them. It was a private seller.
I guess now I will advertise them myself and try to get my $200 back. Thanks again, shamrock

If you are planning on changing wheels for your car you might as well check the manual and the compatibility(check http://www.drivewire.com/model/chrysler-intrepid/). Changing the rims might have effects on the visual mass of the body. If it is bigger try lowering the suspension. Upgrade the brake as well and might as well increase the hp of the motor.
