irratic idle??

Thumbs down irratic idle??

My car starts and runs fine in the morning. after warms up the idle drops intermittently fromn about 700 to 500 rpm and the oil light comes on? if I rev the gas increasing the rpm the engine light goes off. any ideas??? I also just changed the engine in this vehicle with a used 80000 miles one because mine was 220000 and leaking ect... had problem before I vhanged engine too???

Engine idle speed is controlled by the PCM which controls it via the idle air control motor. The oil light is a known problem with 2.7L engine (don't know what engine you have). Replacing the oil light switch is a cheap way to deal with the problem and might solve it. If not, you may have real oil pressure problems.

mine is a 2.5L 1996 model.

Replacing the oil light switch is a cheap way to deal with the problem and might solve it. If not, you may have real oil pressure problems.
