I"ve read all the posts here and looked all over the web and no one sells what I'm looking for, a front license plate bracket for 04 that doesn't require drilling a hole in the rubber bumper.

But there is a sort of strange horizontal bar behind the grill. It's almost 3" high and shaped in front like the right side of a B. Is it a structural part? Can I drill a couple holes in it, or is there something inside that will leak out? I've never seen a structural part with such nice curves.

Then I was going to use sheet metal coming forward and bending up, or maybe down, and attaching the plate to that.

In my case, it's painted the same color as the body, even though it can't really be seen, but maybe the car is painted before the grill goes on, or maybe the car was in an accident and it got painted as part of the repair?
