No Spark.

No Spark.
1997 Sebring LXI 2.5 engine.
No spark at all. New crank sensor, new (used) distributer (checks out with multimeter). Timing is correct.
No spark down to plugs. Wires checked, good. Cap and rotor look good.
This is a head scratcher, it turns over just fine but cant get any spark at all. Where would be a good place to start?

okie
Ok, I will yield to your experience and accept the fact that the distributer that checks out with the multi-meter could be bad too. After I put yet another 180 bucks in this turd and if it still does not spark what would you suggest then?

Exactly how did you check a Distributor with a Multimeter????
Do you have everything else.....Fuel pressure, Injector pulse....
If you have a Tachometer in the dash...Does it "Bounce" when You Crank the car?
180 dollars for a Distributor?????? This year???? Those distributors were 2x that amount...USED...Ten Years ago.....

Manual
The Haynes manual has instructions for testing the distributor with a multimeter. I followed the instructions carefully and it falls within the listed tolerances.
So yes, I have bought the manual. I have gotten my hands dirty and I still have no clue whats wrong with this thing. Yes, logic tells me that if it's not getting a spark it's probably the distributor, but I really hate the idea of replacing it with a BRAND NEW one only to find out I still don't have any spark.
Making an account here was my last option before I just scrap the car. It's in great condition, all leather, no rust... the problem is....no spark either. LOL

Problem.....
In a nutshell...Your distributor makes electrical Pulses while the engine is turning.
There is no way For a Multimeter to accurately read "Millisecond" pulses....So that is out.
Resistance measurements on a distributor that is not turning mean ABSOLUTELY NOTHING.....
Think for a moment.....All the Distributor tests in the world will not help you, if it isnt Powered Up...
Go back and answer the other questions I asked You.....and we will narrow this down.
