Default OEM Stereo Parts/Need Source for Cable

I have a 2001 Sebring Convertible with factory installed infinity am/fm/cassette/cd changer(4) that's possessed; sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. Backyard technician as troubleshot it down to a cable with the following part # on it 04759529AA. The cable has 8 individual wires with ends that look very similar to an auxillary cable but it connects from the radio unit to the cd player only; there are no controls on the steering wheel. As long as he holds this connection in firmly the radio/cd player work but if it looses it's connection everything shuts down and the system will not keep time, programed channels, etc.

1. Does this seem like it could be the problem
2. Do you have a source for a replacement cable.
