P1593 error code
Hi, I just bought a 2007 Sebring Touring edition V6 3.5L. The problem is that cruise control is not working, a friend scanned and found the P1593 error stored in the car's computer. He reset the code but the function still not working. When I start the car the CRUISE light is not displayed. Can someone help me in diagnosing this situation, please?

Set Condition:
The PCM detects that the (V71) S/C Signal 1 voltage does not match the (V72) S/C Signal 2 voltage.
Possible Causes
INTERMITTENT DTC
(V71) S/C SIGNAL 1 CIRCUIT SHORTED TO VOLTAGE
(V72) S/C SIGNAL 2 CIRCUIT SHORTED TO VOLTAGE
(V71) S/C SIGNAL 1 CIRCUIT SHORTED TO GROUND
(V72) S/C SIGNAL 2 CIRCUIT SHORTED TO GROUND
(V71) S/C SIGNAL 1 CIRCUIT SHORTED TO THE (V937) S/C SWITCH GROUND CIRCUIT
(V72) S/C SIGNAL 2 CIRCUIT SHORTED TO THE (V937) S/C SWITCH GROUND CIRCUIT
(V71) S/C SIGNAL 1 CIRCUIT OPEN OR HIGH RESISTANCE
(V72) S/C SIGNAL 2 CIRCUIT OPEN OR HIGH RESISTANCE
(V937) S/C SWITCH GROUND CIRCUIT OPEN OR HIGH RESISTANCE
CLOCKSPRING
SPEED CONTROL SWITCH
STEERING CONTROL MODULE (SCM)
POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE (PCM)
First off, "CLEARING" a dtc when a fault still exists accomplishes ......NOTHING......
the speed control switches are separated into 2 sections, and PCM reads voltage changes between the two sections to determine a course of action. 1593 simply means that the voltage the PCM interprets from switch 1 IS IMPOSSIBLE, based on the reading from switch 2. ALL of the above are possible causes, But checking individual switch signals is impossible without specialized scan equipment....
