Default Question about dome light door switches

I recently had a problem with a 2004 Sebring sedan where the only way to keep the dome light off was to rotate the instrument panel light control down to turn the light off. I eventually found out that the passenger rear door was not shut all the way.

My question is where are the dome light door switches located in case I needed to trouble shoot them. I don't see the usual pin switches sticking out of the car body. Are they located internally with the door latch mechanism?

Yes, it's the same switch that is used by the body control module (body computer) to decide to turn on the "door ajar" light. So the body computer also controls the dome lamp.

Cant say about the sedan, but on the coupes, the switch is not on the hinge pillar (A pillar) as they usedta do, but is on the lower part of the latch pillar/B pillar (or in the sedan, the C pillar)...

It will likely be a rubber circle-lookin-piece.

I need to replace mine too...

I don't see anything on the car body that looks like a switch. I did try the door latch by using a screwdriver to "pretend" the door was closed but the light still does not go out. I wonder if the switch is connected to the check link at the botom forward position of the door.
