Please help me.

There was an excident. Two cars crashed Chrysler Sebring and Lexus IS 250. We have Chrysler Sebring LXi, 2001. 2 front Chrysler Sebring airbags opened. But speed was very low.... maybe 20 kmh. Lexus IS250 airbags didnt open.

Does anyone know what is the minimum speed when airbags system start to work in Chrysler Sebring?

We have a judge now - this information is very important for us.
Woman who drives Lexus IS 250 says that Chrysler moved with speed more than 80 kmh - becosue of it it's airbags opened. She lies.

 

Hmm, you should really look into asking that question to chrysler itself, as it be my guess that it would vary by model, perhaps even years. Another thing you could do is ask a lawyer who specializes in car accidents if your CHRYSLER has a computer which logs how fast it was going at the moment of the accident, as this can save your bacon in a court of law, i'm not a lawyer, but i know for a fact all General motors cars have these computers from 1999 onwards.

Well for one it doesnt depend on just speed.

If the crash is off center say to either side, or a direct head on, that can change deployment or non deployment, secondly most vehicle wont let thel deploy below 20mph.

So you were in a vehicle saying going 25mph or 40km, and had a direct head on, it doesnt surprise me the airbags deployed

 

The speed you are going before the impact is not relevant. What sets off the airbags is the change in speed due to the accident. If you were driving at 60 mph and kissed the bumper of the car in front who was going 59 mph in the same direction, chances are the airbags would not deploy.

20 kph into a brick wall probably will set off the airbags.

Most of the time, people hit the brakes before impact so the speed at impact is usually less than the speed they were driving before the accident.

 

G force thats all I have to offer min speed is based off weather or not the system is armed and then the system uses G force to deploy
