Default Tranny is squealing

I have an 02 Sebring with a 2.4L DOHC with the letter X in the VIN,,,

The car when cold seems to shift fine,,,, after it is hot and you try and start off from a stop, it squeals and doesn't go,,but after a few seconds it will. After we got car home, let sit and tried it again,, put car in drive seemed ok, then tried reverse, didn't go, tried drive again, didn't go, then again after a few it went,,,,,

Any ideas?

You could try changing the fluid and filter. It's a lot cheaper than replacing/rebuilding the transmission, but it may not work. Those transmissions are quite sensitive as far as the fluid is concerned; it needs to be in good condition and clean and must be the correct fluid. If you have never changed it or don't know the history of the car, try that. If that doesn't do the trick then get some professional help.
