Tyre Question?

Tyre Question?
I have 18in wheels on my Sebring, Tyre size 215/55/18.
I saw a Chrysler 300 the other day also with 18 inch wheels, identical alloys to my own but Tyre size,225/60/18.
My question is, would I be able to put that size Tyre on my alloy wheels?
Much appreciated.

It's likely that the wheels on the 300 are a bit wider than those on your Sebring. As for installing the bigger tires on your Sebring, I'd be very cautious as the wheel well clearance on the Sebring is very tight.
If you've got the tools and lots of time on your hands you can check the clearance by removing the spring and putting the suspension and steering through its full range of travel.

Would it then be possible to use 235/50/18 Tyres?
The size I'm currently using are extortionate, the other sizes while expensive are half the price of the 215/55/18.
To make matters worse I only got eight thousand miles out of my last Tyres from new,I simply can't afford that sort of outlay every eight thousand miles.
I asked the Tyre specialist if the tracking was off and he said, 'No it's evenly worn right across the Tyre, it's just wear and tear'
I must stress, this isn't the guy I just bought the new ones from, I got them online as he doesn't even stock that size, he was only fitting them for me so had nothing to gain by not telling me the truth.

8,000 miles? Holy cats. I got over 80,000 miles on my original Sebring tires.
Something's very wrong with that picture.
Take the measurements of the proposed tire, inflated diameter and width and compare it to what's on there now. If it's more than about a quarter inch or so bigger in any dimension, you could have trouble.
