I'm sorry if this topic has been covered, but I didn't see anything about the 2006 2.7L V6.
I have the 2006 Sebring Touring Sedan, 2.7L V6. Mechanic at Firestone tires tells me that the water outlet housing is leaking, but he usually refers them to another shop or the dealer as it a time consuming repair.
From what I got from the dealer, the water outlet housing on the 2.7L engine is an easy fix, it just takes a good amount of time because there's other parts in the way that need to be removed. I'm not too smart with engines, but he quoted me just for labor around $290. I can get the parts at cost through my father, but is that labor cost accurate? Thanks.

 

why dont you just call around to a few places and find out what other people charge? Wouldn't that get you an answer in 10 minutes?

 

With the right tools, you can fix it yourself for less than $50. If you don't trust your own ability, buy the tool and give it to your mechanic to use. You do NOT need to remove the upper air intake manifold as assumed by most mechanics in quoting you the job.

The 2006 model is the same as the 2001 for this component.

 

I'm guessing that does not include the price of the water outlet? the water outlet itself has a Mopar List Price of $109.00. I'm sure you can find someone to sell you one wholesale, but it's still going to be well over $50 for the part itself.

but yes, you do NOT have to remove the plenum.
