Default What is it called?

I got my transmission in thanks to your help. Now the metal piece that holds the shifter cable to the rear transmission mount has broken. I do not know what it is called or where to get one. Does anyone here have one they want to sell? It is up near where the cable slips over the selector lever on the top of the automatic transmission. I believe it is made of pot metal and the cable slips into it. Without the cable held by this piece, to the transmission, the shifter will not work. Thanks again, George

I have looked through my parts catalogue but don't see the part you are talking about. Not sure whether it would be part of the transmission, or of the shift mechanism or of the engine mounting system.
You might be able to go to a junkyard where you pull your own part and see if you can find one.
A dealership might be helpful. They are supposed to carry parts for models going back 10 years, and it's very probable that the part was still in use for the 2006 model year, which would mean that you still might be able to get it. You won't need a part name or number; they have drawings on their computer they can pull up to look at if you can tell the guy at the parts counter where it is and what it does. It's probably called a cable support bracket or something like that.

You were right, dcotter, it is called the shift cable bracket and it is part of the shift cable. So, I have to replace the shift cable to replace the bracket. The part number for the shift cable with bracket is 5114094AB and that is a Chrysler number. I bought it online through Amazon for about $73. These brackets and cables are so specific that one must send in the car's vin. Anyway, many thanks you were a big help. George
