Default 2005 300 - Stiff brake pedal.

The brake pedal on my 2005 300 2.7 seems stiff. Not super stiff, but it just feels like the brakes should be stopping the car better than they are, based on how much I'm pushing on the pedal. I've owned the car since 2006 and about 12,000 miles and it's been this way the whole time I've owned it, so I don't think there's anything *wrong*, per se. But I just feel like this giant car should stop better.

Anyone else feel like that? I've Googled and searched this site, and no one else mentions it, so either it's normal, or I'm the only one that has this issue, or both.

I'm just wondering if something simple like an upgraded vacuum check valve would be tha answer, or if I'd have to go with a big-brake-kit to make it feel better. Or maybe just better brake pads would help.

Looking for ideas... thanks for your help.
