Default 2011 C Sirius radio sounds bad - over compressed

The Sirius radio in my 2011 300 C sounds terrible. The stations sound like the signal is being over compressed. My 2010 Sierra has XM, and sounds great. So it's not a geographical thing.

Any ideas?

I've got a 2012 300S and an 05 Durango..both with Sirius. Same issue. Sound is much cleaner either attached to my iPhone or on FM. My wife's Mazda CX-9 sounds the same whether Sirius, CD, iPhone. Not sure why.

After doing some research out on the web, it's a common problem with Sirius, but Sirius won't acknowledge it. XM is not near as bad.

I no longer have the 300. I traded it for a 2012 BMW 535i. It has Sirius, and sounds like crap as well. I can't believe the auto manufacturers are putting this garbage in their new cars.

I have called Sirius numerous times complaining, but to no avail. They just want to reset my radio, and claim they have had no other complaints - which I know is not true.

I would encourage everyone with Sirius to call them and complain. They need to reduce the ridicules number of channels that they are broadcasting, and expand their bandwidth. And if they don't get it resolved by the time my free year is up, I won't renew.
