2023 300 won't shift out of park
Hi All,
I have seen this problem listed for older Chrysler 300's etc. with the shift lever but my Chrysler 300 is just two months old and has the ****/dial type shifter.
My wife just came in the house and said she had the engine running and her foot on the brake (in the garage so it's a relatively level surface) and the **** would not turn to select any other gear other than Park. So she shut it off and came to get me. It worked for me but I'm concerned it will leave her stranded somewhere if this is a problem like the Chrysler lever type shifters of the past.
Is this a problem with new as well as old Chryslers, or just a "one-off"? I think Chrysler has installed only dial type shifters in the 300 since about 2017 (six years now).
When I Googled Chrysler 300 stuck in Park, all that came up were old stick/lever type shifters and I don't think the problem would be the same but I'm open to hear if anyone with the dial type shifter has had this issue?

Hello,
Thank you sharing. Please refer to Page 80 of your Owner's Manual to explore possible causes as to why the gear would not shift.
If the notes of the manual do not apply and/or the issue persists, we recommend reaching out to a local dealer for diagnostics.
Also, if needed, our team is here for further assistance. Feel free to reach out to us with a private message.
