EGR Sensor Location
JWINS, Your EGR sensor is located on the back of the engine on the passenger side of the vehicle. It is a pretty simple job, but requires you to remove the intake manifold.
Materials needed: EGR valve, EGR gasket, EGR tube gasket, EGR tube silcone o-ring (goes over tube into intake manifold.) Make suer to get the last item from dealer as the red one from autozone or advance is the wrong part.
There are two ways to get to the EGR valve.
1sy way: Remove all electrical connectors from upper intake manifold. Remove intake tube. Remove upper intake manifold.( Requires some moving around to get the EGR tube loose from the manifold. Replace EGR valve. Once you remove the intake you will be able to see the valve.
2nd Way: Put your car on ramps and reach up behind the passenger tire on the back side of the engine to get to the EGR valve. It helps to have someone up top to guide your hands. Remove the EGR valve bolts and pull the valve and tube out as on piece. Make sure to mark the tube with a reference point when reinstalling on the new valve. Replace all gaskets and o-rings.
I think the second way is easier but requires a second person to help guide your hands onto the bolts. The second also doesnt require you to replace the intake manifold gaskets.
Hope this helps
