GPS Map Update
#2
It's a funny thing about map updates. My dealer refuses to do it as a matter of policy. They refered me to web sites specializing in a "do it yourself" process using data downloaded to your computer and then downloaded into your car . I am not that computer literate so I have not opted for the recommended solution.
I have heard/read horror stories of people who "bricked" their car radio/nav system by incorrect loading procedures . I suspect the dealer knows something they are unwilling to talk about.

Hi all.
My fist post here.
I bought 2013 Chrysler 300C John Varvatos Limitied Edition (with HEMI 5.7L) about a month ago. After reading this post I decided to check the version of Garmin navigation software in Uconnect. It was 1.3, very old. I updated software and now have 7.11. Map upgrade is $99 on website. I am still debating with myself if I should do map updates.

I decided to leave maps alone. I use google maps in driving mode anyway when driving.

I ordered a update from 'here' it was 23 months old the day it showed up. I wounder why it did new roads in it. Check the date on files. Here refused to return my money, because I installed it. Check the file date on the large data base.
