Quest about a 05 Chrysler 300
So a mechanic buddy of mine was looking at a friends Chrysler 300 (5.7L) but it was running like crap and comes to find that it had a number 7 cylinder misfire..so he took the plug out and the bottom was smashed to the diode...to make matters worse oil burns out the exhaust and when u pull the engine dipstick or oil cap off while its running you can hear a vaccum suction noise(even when the pcv hose is plugged off) think the motors fried or just the heads or something... hes kinda stumpped and wonder if its worth pulling apart for further inspection?? Any help would be appreciated..

Well you know what cylinder it is, so tearing it down is what's next. I am not aware of any common cylinder issues with Hemis. There are things that can be done like a cylinder leak-down and compression tests, If anyone has a good boroscope (video camera stick) you can maybe see something in the hole. My guess would be the cylinder wall is scored or you have piston damage. If it smashed the plug gap closed, it probably spun the rod bearing or the wrist pin has play in it. Which came first chicken or egg is pretty much worhtless info at this point.
