Checking to see if anyone else has had this issue.

Thanks
I've read that you can take the 4x4 switch off when not in 4x4 and it will lock it into regular. It's either the transfer case motor or the wiring to the actual switch in the cab or the switch itself all the parts are fairly cheap and can be done at home!!! I haven't tried it yet but I'm starting to do it now wish me luck HAHA

In most cases, it turns out to be the transfer case motor which is a bit of a pain to get to. You have to drop the cross member for the transmission as it sits right above it. The motor has a shield plate which you simply cannot remove with the cross member in place and it holds the motor in as well. Highly recommend not going aftermarket. I made that mistake. The plug apparently is a little too long and therefore I was not able to get the harness to seat in all the way. Got frustrated and just left it unplugged. It doesn't switch anymore, but I still have the "SVC AWD" light on my dash.

I tried unplugging the switch on mine when I first started having issues and it was still switching since it was the motor that was having issues. I had to unplug the motor to get it to stop switching. Glad you got it to stop with just the dash switch. Much easier to get to.
